Lephalale, also known as Ellisras, is a picturesque small town in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
The town was established as Ellisras in 1960 and named after Patrick Ellis and Piet Erasmus who settled on a farm there in the 1930s. Many nature and game reserves surround the town and attractions include: Bird watching, Game viewing and Game drives.
The lodge boasts a restaurant, a well-stocked bar, conference facilities to hire, a gym, a lapa/boma with a BBQ/Braai fire pit, an outdoor pool, free Wi-Fi access, hunting packages, and an array of other facilities and services.
The closest international airport is Polokwane International Airport, situated approximately 213 km away.
Drive to Lephalale CBD. When you reach the main CBD, drive through the little town and take a right turn after you pass Dzombo Fuel Station. You will see a sign that reads Shongoane/Marken. Continue down that road for 25 km.
Turn left at the Beauty road sign (please note that this is a dirt road). There is a gate where an access code is required (this code is issued at reservations stage). If the gate does not automatically open, please walk through the pedestrian gate and open the main gate using the same code from the other side of the gate.
You can then proceed. Drive down the dirt road for 10km. You will see a sign for Winterfell Safari Lodge (previously Bush Africa Safaris). Turn right at the sign and drive for 4 km until you see our gate. There is a security access code (the number will be supplied at reservations stage).
Please wait until the gate closes behind you. Follow the signs until you reach the lodge. Drive safely!
